After asking the reason, Xue Xiangling gave her thebrocade pouch generously.
“武（wŭ）” is composed of “戈”（gē） and“止（zhǐ）”. “戈” stands for ancient weapons. “止” stands for toes. The image combination of the character “武” on oracle bone inscriptions shows the dance scene of Chinese ancestors holding weapons. Therefore, the original meaning of “武” is dance, and especially refers to the hunting dance. Later, based on the possession of weapons (Ge), the meaning of this character was extended .It also refers to:

“仁”is a Pictographic character.It is composed of “person” and “二”.“二” is a symbol of redeption, which means “仁” is made up of two “person”. Based on this character, the original meaning and the extended meaning of benevolence are all related to the relationship between people and others. The original meaning of benevolence is “closeness”, refers to the mutual love between people, originally refers to the family relationship between people and their children, and later extended to fraternity.
Today，“和”is a polyphonic word and the “和”discussed in this article is read as hé. The word “和”hé extends from harmony to peace, tenderness and softenness. Also，there is a common meaning of “和” is together, so there is a joint meaning——“association”. And it was evolved into conjunctions, means “AND” . For example, “you and I”are the same as “you and I”.
